Erasmus+

The Institute of Hospitality and Economics (VŠHE) holds a valid Erasmus+ program for higher education for the period 2021-2027.

The main possibilities of the program

1. Students: Student mobility for study and work stays falls under KA1. The main change is the possibility of repeated trips in each study cycle up to max. 12 months. The student thus theoretically has the opportunity to travel in bachelor’s and master’s degree for a total of 24 months (+12 in doctoral studies). The graduate also has the opportunity to travel for a working stay within 1 year after graduation. However, the condition is the signing of all contractual documentation with VŠH before the end of the study.

The amount of scholarships is given by the Program Guide, the EC divided the member countries according to the cost of living into three categories, so the student can get (510, 450, 330 EUR / month), for internships there will be an increase of 150 EUR / month. for each category. Increase 200 EUR / month. gets a socio-economically disadvantaged student.

2. Teachers or key staff (rector, vice-rectors, institutional coordinator, shared program manager): have the opportunity to travel for staff mobility or the university can hire an expert from the company as part of this activity. Teacher mobility also presupposes the obligation to teach min. 8 hours / week, participation in conferences cannot be financed. The selection of candidates should be documented and approved by the head of the department on the basis of the submitted program, the final selection is confirmed by the school management. In the case of job mobility, the EC has created four categories of countries according to the cost of living. Teachers can get 136, 119, 102 and 85 EUR for 1-14. day of stay. Travel costs are reimbursed as unit costs depending on the distance of the destinations, calculated according to EC rules using distance calculator .

Information for applicants – under what conditions can I participate in the program?

Qualifying conditions – summary:
  • A bilateral ERASMUS + agreement was concluded between VŠHE and the partner institution.
  • I am a student enrolled in an accredited study program at VŠHE (bachelor’s, master’s study program).
  • I have duly completed at least the first year of my bachelor’s degree.
  • The length of the study stay will be a minimum of 3 months (or one trimester), a maximum of 12 months – always within one academic year.
  • I will be a student of VŠHE for the entire period of my planned stay abroad (it is not possible to end or interrupt my studies at VŠHE before going abroad or during a study stay).

  • Find out about the conditions and date of the selection procedure. The criteria and deadline are set by VŠHE. Spring term (April) and autumn term (November).
  • Find out the consequences of studying abroad for my studies at VŠHE (recognition of courses completed abroad, the need to distribute studies, individual study plan).
Financing

Erasmus + mobilities are funded in private schools exclusively by EU funds. The amount of financial support depends on the length of the study stay (number of months / days) abroad. For the purposes of calculating the scholarship, one month is considered to be 30 days. In the case of an incomplete month, the scholarship is calculated according to the number of days (1 day = 1/30 of the monthly rate). The financial support is not intended to cover all the costs associated with studying abroad, but to cover part of these increased mobility costs. It is necessary to count on financial participation. The lump sum per month includes both the student’s accommodation and travel costs.

Note: Erasmus + financial contributions cannot be paid to accounts set up in foreign banking institutions, but only to accounts within the Czech Republic or the Slovak Republic (koruna or account in EUR)!

Scholarship increase – socio-economic disadvantage

Students from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds who participate in the Erasmus + study stay have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship increase of 200 EUR / month. The definition of socio-economic disadvantage is based on § 91 par. 3 of Act no. 111/1998 Coll. about universities. Applies to students who are entitled / receiving a social scholarship at the home university at the time of departure = are entitled to child allowance and the decisive family income determined for child allowance does not exceed the product of the sum of the family’s subsistence minimum and a coefficient of 1.5. The student submits an application for an increase in the scholarship to the Erasmus + program coordinator at the VŠHE’s foreign department.

Handicapped students

Students with disabilities or special educational needs can apply for a special grant through the VŠHE foreign department. Different types of hearing, visual or physical disabilities are considered to be disabilities, e.g. a disease requiring a special diet. In the application, the student states the reason why he / she is applying for a special grant and submits it to the Erasmus + program coordinator at the VŠHE foreign department. The application must be accompanied by a cost calculation, a medical report, or a copy of the ZTP card and documents relating to the Erasmus + study stay. The Foreign Department will assess the adequacy of the required costs. The awarded special grant must be charged upon return from the study stay.

Erasmus + language training

Students are required to conduct an online language assessment before and at the end of the mobility. The following languages are available: Czech, Danish, Greek, English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Swedish. The student also has the opportunity to take a voluntary language course.

Academic recognition

Mobility is considered to be fulfilled if the student brings the Statement of Study Results corresponding to the study contract. It is therefore the student’s duty not only to spend abroad the time specified in the financial agreement, but also to adhere to the approved study program specified in the study contract. If the approved study program is not met, the school may require the student to return part or all of the allocated financial support.

Repeated student travels

The European Commission has laid down the following rules for re-entry for Erasmus + student mobility:

  • The student obtains 12 months of stay abroad within each level of study, ie bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral. This time allowance can always be used for a study stay or a practical internship.
  • This time allowance includes all Erasmus + study stays and work placements that the student has completed in the past.
