At the beginning of the meeting, the Rector thanked the Student Senate, employees and academic staff of the school for their activities. At the IHME, a wave of solidarity is evident.

At the meeting, the IHME management rejected any negative procedures against a particular group of students in terms of termination or impossibility to complete their studies. IHME students and academics are members of one academic community where everyone is treated equally.

The following key information results from the meeting with the representatives of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Interior (more information at https://www.nasiukrajinci.cz/, https://www.edu.cz/ukrajina/, https://www.mvcr.cz/clanek/informace-pro-obcany-ukrajiny.aspx or on the phone number of the non-stop line of the Ministry of Interior +420 974 801 802):

Based on the academic meeting, the following support from the IHME emerged

• The IHME is ready to accept for new studies applicants who are affected by the critical situation in Ukraine, with immediate effect (we also offer the opportunity to focus on studying the Czech language). To use these possibilities, it is necessary to contact the school by e-mail cizinci@vshe.cz.

• The Student Senate is preparing a fundraising associated with the organization of a gastronomic event. Detailed information is available on the social networks of the Student Senate or at senat@vsh.cz. It is also possible to use this e-mail contact with an offer of help with the organization. The event will probably be held on March 24.

• A section for students coming from Ukraine has been set up on the “Study in the Czech Republic” project website. VŠHE is actively involved. More information here: https://www.studyin.cz/ukraine-scholarships/

• The IHME will not hold a separate fundraising. Solidarity can be expressed using professional fundraisers, such as the following: https://www.clovekvtisni.cz/darujte

• We are preparing the possibility of a scholarship fund to help with the payment of tuition fees for students affected by this critical situation.

The Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and the Rector of the IHME expressed solidarity with all those affected by the war conflict and asked for help from anyone who has the opportunity.

All IHME students affected by the conflict may, if necessary, contact the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs or the Rector for assistance.

Further information will be continuously published on the IHME website and on social networks. We strongly believe that the critical situation will be terminated soon and peace will be restored.
