Ing. Martin Petříček, Ph.D.

Martin Petříček has been working at the Institute of Hospitality Management since 2014. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Economics in Prague and the Faculty of Economics at the Technical University in Liberec. He has worked in banking for a long time and took care of the investment portfolios of entrusted clients. But he always knew that what really fulfilled him was to develop himself and others. This is one of the reasons why he started lecturing, during which he prepared those interested in passing brokerage exams. Subsequently, however, he found himself lecturing and conducting seminars at the university and understood that he really belonged in this environment.

As part of his expertise, he focuses primarily on the application of advanced management methods and sales optimization for companies doing business in the service sector. That is why he teaches mainly the subjects Business Economics and Business Financial Management. He also teaches microeconomic theory in English. He lectures irregularly at universities abroad. He is the author or co-author of dozens of professional articles in recognized scientific journals.

In 2020, he became the rector of the school with the aim of opening the Institute of Hospitality Management to the world and establishing cooperation with leading European schools focusing on the hotel and tourism industry. He loves food, fun and is an active juggler.
