DR. JAROSLAV HOLOUBEK LIBRARY

The Institute of Hospitality Management in Prague received a grant from the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic from the VISK3 sub-program to support the development of its own public library with a specialized book collection. The grant financed the transition to the new Verbis library system, the necessary hardware and software. The new system is up and running.

The library is therefore newly equipped with the Verbis library program, which is also accessible from the school’s information system and its website. In addition to searching, the Portaro online catalog also enables loan renewals, reservations and orders.

Library hours

The library provides

• Access the library catalog
• Online and out-of-office rental services
  • Full-time loans – materials intended for full-time borrowing can only be studied in the library, or copied from them. The price of this service is stated in the Library Rules
  • Absence Loans – Books and materials are lent outside the library. The loan period is one month for full-time students and external users, it is 45 days for distance students. Loans can be extended if they are not booked by another user
• Bibliographic information services – Providing information about the library’s holdings
• Reference Services – This is the provision of information where a user can find the information or publication they are looking for, provided that the information or publication is not available in the library.
• Reprographic services – Black and white copying for a fee
• Interlibrary loan services for registered users

  • EBSCO – A source of scientific information for the humanities and social sciences. VŠH students and employees can log in to the EBSCO system from the information system. Learn more about EBSCO
  • CODEXIS – legal information system. The content of this system is carefully prepared from official sources , especially from the Official Journal of the European Union, the Collection of Laws of the Czech Republic, the Collection of International Treaties and about 40 other information sources. Here you will find, for example, collections of court decisions (Collection of Findings and Resolutions of the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic, Collection of Court Decisions and Opinions of the Supreme Court, Collection of Decisions of the Supreme Administrative Court) and departmental gazettes (Financial Bulletin , Price Bulletin, Telecommunications Bulletin, CNB Bulletin, SAO Bulletin, Ministry of the Environment Bulletin). Students, staff and library visitors can only log in to the system on the library’s PC.
